Q1.How would you describe Poorishaad in under 50 words?

Poori Shaadi is emerging as one of the most innovative wedding expert aggregator startup to connect the right expert of wedding to the right customer,In this platform you will get on your budget experts and those experts are also given standarisation by Poori Shaadi.we have also tried to enlist some of the unique elements of wedding which play a important role in its smooth execution.

Q2.Who is the team behind your venture?

Manish Mishra and Amrita Kar together founded the company and it was incorporated on 23rd April 2016 ,Both had keen experience of working closely with people and knowing their actual problems as they were wedding planners themselves ,They therefore tried to bring up a concept to channelize the unorganized market and make it more sure friendly and cost effective with better output.


Q3.How did you come across this idea? What was missing from the current solutions that you are seeking to fix?

We had been wedding planners ourselves and had worked closely with people and found the problems they face, we concluded that budget was one concern in weddings and also the myth that wedding industry is too costly with many middle man prevails in people s mindset when they plan any wedding event. Also we have many expert vendor in market who due to non exposure lag behind in getting the right customer, there by Poori Shaadi was formed, we brought a unique solution to it and are trying to make people get along with it.

We fixed the mentioned problem with our concept of providing the Customer with their own budget vendors and not only vendors but Experts who are given the standardization as Poori Shaadi Expert

Q4.What is your work style?

We value output more than hours and this is our work style, Fun and collaborative discussion is a part of it and we feel each individual of our team puts his or her views openly so that the company work structure gets more focused view of how to proceed further.We encourage more open-minded people in our team

Q5.How has the growth been since launch and what are the future plans?

The growth has been steady since launch and we are also collaborating each day with varied experts of weddings, we are also including new features to our existing model.Our future plans are to extend our existing model in 10 major cities and also to the 2 tier and 3 tier cities of India.We also will come up with new avenues in the field of catering.

Q6.What would you say is the biggest lesson you have learned while running Poori Shaadi?

Poori Shaadi has been launched to solve the problems which are existing in the present wedding scenario. The biggest lesson we learnt in this whole journey is that its confidence which makes you win half of the battle, rest is your perseverance for the rest of the battle.We also learned that only success in the first step is not the important factor but making it a sustainable business should also be the aim of all the startup.

Q7.What is the biggest hurdle you have faced or are still facing?

We started off our journey in 2015 last and had made plans of launching it, We had to leave beside all our existing wedding execution works and had to fully devote on our concept, Initially convincing family and facing the changing work schedule was a biggest hurdle, we had to bootstrap the whole startup work. We also found challenges in convincing people to join our startup in the initial times as we wanted to make a great team.Funding issues are also some of the issues we are facing right now but we hope to cover it soon as we are in talks with investors too.

Q8.If you could only give one piece of advice, what would it be?

Never do anything or never build a startup just because the whole world is doing it, your work should be your passion only then you can succeed in it.

Q9.Who do you see as your target audience?

Our target audience are our customers of wedding who wish to complete their wedding with best output and also on their own budget.We also want to provide a proper standardization to all the wedding Vendors and provide them an exposure in this field.

Q10.Has your initial vision changed since launch?

No our vision to give India a more organized wedding planning Services and bring all the experience people working in this field under One roof became stronger as we are progressing further.

Q11.What is your one tip for aspiring entrepreneurs?
