Q1.How would you describe pgofIndia in under 50 words?
PGI is one of a kind, A one stop assisted fintech eco system bridging the gap between offline and online through tech based consolidation between PGI local touch point, end customer and merchant by addressing pain area of all stake holders, catering to the banked, unbanked population of India and Bharat.
Q2.Who is the team behind your venture?
Parag Shah and Antony Jose both founders incorporated the company in Nov 2013, both engineer’s more importantly having a combined experience of 20 years+ in the online B2B and wallet space.
Q3.How did you acquire your first customers and what has been the learning along the way?
We’ve acquired our first customers via digital marketing and it worked for us on targeting data of Bharat. Some appreciations and feedback, we’ve learnt not to discount data of India who prefer “do it for me” than “do it myself”.
Q4.Who are your typical users? And what has their initial feedback been? What are the future plans for growth?
Both banked and unbanked including wallets population of India and the rest of Bharat .With excellent feedback received, users are enthralled about PGI solving their problem in a coherent way, while certain feature additions will definitely be part of the solution. With 5 lac + micro merchants presence on boarded with 1000 merchants, actually makes a much more efficient system to impact mass numbers.
Q5.What have been the main advantages building a separate identity?
By creating a new company with a new brand having a dedicated team and its own P&L, allowed the business to stand on its own feet and flourish.
Q6.What is the biggest hurdle you have faced or are still facing?
Apart from fund raising growth at the beginning is slow and it requires patience. We’ve grown significantly enough to build a super efficient model with a small team. Fund raising required by bootstrapped business will need cash injection for scale.

An entrepreneur is someone who has a vision for something and a desire to create it. Keep your vision clear at all times. –David Carp
Q8.Has your initial vision changed since launch?
Our belief that no matter how many features a website or app has, payment settlement will be vital for any business. The sole reason for PGI building an assisted FinTech Ecosystem.
Q9.What’s the most interesting tech article you’ve read this year?
